New Book
I am so happy that I was able to publish a middle grade contemporary fiction, Boy From Three Worlds, in September 2022. The story reflects some of my own experiences and observations after leaving home. I wrote the book for 8-15 year-old children and those who like to read all genres.
It’s a story of a 13 year-old boy, Waris and his immigrant father who is going through his own challenges as he tries to integrate into N. American life. Similar to the experiences of many first generation children, Waris vicariously suffers trauma because of the backlash from his parents’ struggles.
The setting is far away Gilgit, a ruggedly scenic mountainous terrain Waris is visiting and where he is initially very unhappy. The moment he decides to follow his own heart and listen to his own mind his life changes. The story is full of Waris’s adventures, the mysteries he solves, the friends he makes, the bully he encounters and the heroic act he decides to take upon himself.
It’s a story that will motivate young readers to never give up, no matter what the odds.
